Creating a pool is about crafting your own private escape, a place to relax, entertain, and elevate your outdoor living. At Plankey Custom Pools, we design and build luxury residential pools tailored to your space, property, and vision.
Every pool ages over time, but the right renovation makes it feel brand new. From PebbleTec finishes to ivory travertine decking and smart Pentair automation upgrades.
PebbleTec resurfacing, travertine coping & LED upgrades revitalize aged pools.
Some pools aren't just part of a backyard. They're part of a property's history. This 100-year-old pool renovation in St. Petersburg is the perfect example of how a carefully managed renovation can bring an aging structure back to life and make it shine for another century.
Historic homes with original pools often attract buyers looking for authentic charm. Renovating instead of replacing keeps that character intact.
In some cases, restoring the structure and updating systems can be more affordable than a full tear-out and rebuild, especially for large or uniquely shaped pools.
Modern finishes like pebble resurfacing, LED lighting, and automation bring today's technology into a historic setting without losing the pool's original identity.
Renovating reuses the existing structure, reducing waste and environmental impact compared to a full demolition.
Instead of demolishing the pool and starting over, we worked closely with the homeowner to preserve the original footprint and character while completely updating the finishes, systems, and style.
By coordinating specialized trade professionals through one accountable project lead, every phase was handled by experts: structural repair crews stabilized the old shell, plumbing specialists installed new lines, tile and coping artisans created a modern look, and decking crews gave the entire outdoor area a fresh, contemporary feel.
The result is a pool that looks brand new but carries the heritage of the property. For many homeowners in Pinellas County, especially in St. Petersburg’s historic neighborhoods, this approach offers more than just a financial benefit. It preserves the story of the home while adding real value to the property.
