Pool Resurfacing & Refinishing in Pinellas County
Every pool surface eventually needs attention. Whether your interior finish is stained, rough, or simply dated, pool resurfacing restores both the look and the feel of your pool. Plankey Custom Pools specializes in pool resurfacing and refinishing for homeowners across Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area.
As a Florida licensed swimming pool and spa contractor, we coordinate specialized trade professionals through one accountable project lead, with documented quality checks from preparation through startup.
PebbleTec Pool Resurfacing
PebbleTec is one of the most durable and popular interior finishes for Florida pools. A PebbleTec resurfacing uses a blend of pebbles and cement to create a long-lasting, textured finish available in a range of colors — from cool azure blues to deep midnight tones. PebbleTec finishes are known for their longevity and natural, upscale appearance.
Quartz finishes offer a smoother surface than traditional plaster with added durability and color options, making them a strong middle-ground choice for many homeowners.
Gunite Pool Resurfacing
Gunite (shotcrete) pools are built to last, but the interior finish layer wears over time. Gunite pool resurfacing involves preparing the existing shell, addressing any structural concerns, and applying a new interior finish — whether plaster, quartz, or PebbleTec — to restore a smooth, watertight, and attractive surface.
We document every step of the resurfacing scope in your itemized proposal, including any tile, coping, or equipment work that accompanies the resurfacing.
What Resurfacing Can Include
A complete resurfacing project often pairs the new interior finish with new glass waterline tile, bullnose travertine coping, refreshed decking, and modern equipment upgrades — variable-speed pumps, salt systems, smart automation, and LED lighting. We provide a detailed itemized proposal after an on-site consultation so you see every cost before any work begins.
Project timelines vary based on the scope of work, site access, weather, and material availability. Plankey provides a project-specific schedule after reviewing the property and final scope.
